QuakerVille TV
QuakerVision is back ONLINE!
May 2005

QuakerVille TV has been offline due to some technical difficulties but we're back now and will be adding more channels as we can. If you are unfamiliar with "Channels" you will be surprised to learn that Microsoft made channels more for commercial products but this is still a wonderful use of the technology. Scala wrote many of the programs used on big screen commercial monitors in banks, airports and on billboards. I've had Scala products since they came out in the late 90s before there were so many big monitors around so I got it real early and have made it available to QuakerVille viewers. Have fun with the technology, we are going to use it more in the future. ~~jmd ~~

Welcome to the beginning of real multimedia on the Internet. Here are a few examples of the new Level III Internet products that are available now. If this is a new install you will need to download and install a plug-in called IPlay from Scala and DirectX from Microsoft to enable your browser and computer to enjoy these productions. You will need a little while to download and install IPlay. When completed come back and enjoy a QuakerVille.com Channels. This is experimental and will be an ongoing process to add channels to QuakerVille.

ENJOY!

If you have problems with this process (other than it taking a long time to download) please write me at jmdavey@quakerville.com

Please don't be discouraged if your computer and connection isn't compatible with this technology yet. If you have a fairly new computer with a 40K or better connection then you will not have to wait too long to make this all work. If you have an ISDN or DSL connection than this is what you have been waiting for to test your system. If you want more of these please let me know and I'll make more. My hope is to one day have a continuous LIVE QuakerVille.net TV channel on the web.

Here is what it takes to run these channels. minimum requirements running only QVTV channels are:

  • DSL or CABLE connection (Broadband)
  • P 166 or Equiv. - Better to run P 233 PII or faster
  • Windows 95/98/NT
  • PC SVGA card with 2MB video ram with DirectX support
  • 32MB RAM/win98  48MB RAM/NT
  • PC compatible CD-ROM drive
  • Hard drive with 25MB free
