CommentsHi, We just bought our first quaker. It was born Dec. 5th, 2000. We are new to this type of bird and would appreciate any help on what they like and need to keep them happy. Example: cage size, toys, food, etc. We have 4 cockatiels, a Senegal, a parrotlet and now a quaker. Each bird has their own large bedroom (cage) to retreat to when we are not home or have gone to bed for the evening. We spend alot of time with the birds. They are out when we are home. We also have some canaries and finches but they have more than one in the cage. We really enjoyed seeing your website. Bogey and Nub are so cute. My daughter made her first website of the birds. If you'd like to see it go to www.perandfriends.homestead.com/casper.html. Take care and thank you for the look at your Nub and Bogey. Sally

CommentsTommorow I'm driving 3 hours to pick up my very first Quaker (and my 1st bird). It so happens he has a bad leg too! What information/advise could you give me on caring for a one legged fellow??? Im purchasing a Lutino Cockatiel tommorow as well. It looks from the pictures that Nub has no trouble getting around with his "bum Leg". Would love to hear from you.

CommentsDelightful site - loved the pics. Unfortunately, Hobo is Nite-Nite right now, so didn't get a peek at them. I have had Hobo one week as of yesterday. A friend at work found him "walking" in his yard, unable to get altitute even though he has all his flight feathers. He is definitely a baby, my guess about 3-4 mos old. So, being a "soft touch" I adopted him even though I already have a 1 yr old green cheek and a 4 months old senegal. They all get along (as long as they are at least 6 inches apart on my body! My first try at being a Quaker Mom. Already, I adore Hobo. He/she is independent yet loving, and in a couple of days learned step-up and give mommy kisses. Yes, I took him to the vet, and after tests, he was given a clean bill of health. The vet says he is very healthy, weighing in at 101 grams. Don't know if he was a lost pet or just lost his parents in the big wide world. Have joined the Quaker club to learn more about my newbie! Regards, Eirlys Ann, Baby (GC), "Breaker" Pickle (Sennie) and now 'Lil' Hobo (QP) in Florida

CommentsHi! Your pictures are wonderful Bogey and Nub and Tobey! Phil is my quaker and I am his royal slave. Phil hope that your slaves are taking good care of you all. He says he finally is getting me trained but that I must be reminded he is the first bird that gets picked up, let our of his room (cage), and first to be fed. He insists that his slave read to him and sing songs using his name! So Nub, Tobey, and Bpogey if your slaves don't do that--work on it! Phil Oh P.S. I am so handsome that I can'b be on a web-page. I am the most wanted bird in the state! if you know what I mean. . . Phil the great quaker! I love the pictures of you fids--they are great! As you can tell Phil is the boss but I sure do love him! Your fids are very lucky to have you. . . Susan

CommentsI LOVE THE BLUE QUAKER! MINE IS A GREEN AND HE IS GREAT. WE VIST EVERY DAY. HE IS JUST OVER A YEAR. HE CALLS MY BLACK LAB A BAD DOG WHEN SHE GETS TO CLOSE. HE ALSO SAYS GOOD MORNING BUDDIE PRETT BIRD KISSES HELLO AND A FEW OTHER THINGS WERE STILL TRYING TO UNDERSTAND. HE IS GREAT TO COME HOME TO AND HE KNOWNS WHEN YOU WALK IN THE DOOR.
CommentsYou are very cute.
CommentsTHEY'RE ADORABLE
CommentsPeanut and Cupcake are both green. I have yet to see a blue one in this area. I think Bogey is beautiful and YES having Quakers is very contagious. I love them both. Cupcake talks better than Peanut, but that's because Peanut was cage-bound in a pet shop the first year of his life. He says a few words but he's totally lovable. Cupcake likes to think he's in charge, but Peanut usually yells him down a perch or two. They don't call me birdladi for nothing. I also have 2 cockatiels - Harley and Stoni, 2 parakeets - Dusty and Blueberry and 3 finches Stumpy, Crimson & Chloe. I love birds I can't and never seem to have enough. I'd like to buy another bird (Quaker, of course) if I can talk my husband into it. Don't get me wrong, he loves all the birds as much as I do but sometimes the noise can be near deafening. I think my husband is leaning more towards a larger bird and I'm sure I can find him one. Well, stay tweet and safe-flying. Write back.
CommentsWozzo and Wishbone are our "GRANDBIRDS". This is a great site!!

CommentsReally enjoyed your beautiful pictures. I have a cockatiel.
CommentsBogey and Nub, I love your site. Only question I have is, how long did it take you to teach your slaves to take such good pictures? I've been working with Samm about a year but she seems to have a very short attention span. Any suggestions appreciated. Oh, one other question, have any sexy female quaker pictures? Jilly Quaker

CommentsThe pictures you have up are charming!! You have some very handsome birds. I've been letting other bird owners know about a free email service at www.birdmail.com--I have already registered my bird's name as my email address (mostly because I got a big kick out of seeing his name on it--now he can get his own mail!). If you'd like to join, please use Piepmatz as the referral. Have lots of fun with Bogey, Nub and Toby!! -Kari

Commentsyour birds are very lovely and I enjoy seeing all of them and would like to move up to a quacker in the future as we raise several types of cockatiels and red rump parrots
CommentsYou guys really are photogenic...........you must have a wonderful owner. Bogey, did you Richard Nixon was a Quaker too !
CommentsI liked your site. Do you really like scrambled eggs? How much was your blue quaker? very pretty. Jane
CommentsI enjoyed viewing your birds. I am looking to be the proud owner of a quaker parrot in a month or so. I am purchasing a bird from a breeder in Fla. Right now it is too young to be shipped. I can't wait but in the meantime I've been learning as much as I possibly can being that I have owned cocketeils, parakeets and finches. Never a quaker. If you have any tips or pointers I would really appreciate. Another thing your blue is georgous. Its making wish that my new little friend would be a blue. Do the blues cost more than the greens. I know the answer is yes. I think I'll check with my breeder and see if its possible that I get a blue instead of the green. Phyllis
CommentsThat was the funnyest thing i have ever seen!
CommentsCUTE!!!
CommentsMy husband and I are interested in another Quaker - one we hand raise from baby-hood. Where did you find Nub (did I get that right, the blue one?). Are you familiar with any breeders that breed blue Quakers? We don't want a green one because Raleigh's the only little green chicken for our hearts, but a little blue chicken might be a great addition... Thanks! Karen, Brian, Raleigh
