Beth is a co-worker
of mine that lives in a special area where wild Quakers visit her bird feeders. Daily she
reports the morning Quaker Count at work. Recently she reported 17 QPs in her back yard so
she decided to "click a few snaps". I started this page for Beth in July of 1997
and it has been so popular that I wanted to expand it and make it a spin-off of
QuakerVille so here we go.
It's fun and games time, the Quaker way.

 In
Beth's Back Yard you will find Quakers, lot's of them. Big Quakers, small Quakers, all are
noisy Quakers. These Monk Parakeets are very beautiful and exhibit a personality unlike
about any other wild bird on planet earth. Click the Icon to the left to count the wild
Quakers.

 Imported from Southern
South America, Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay, Chile, and Peru, starting in the
early 1950's these little green parakeets have increased their wild status in the Northern
Hemisphere mainly by owners releasing unwanted companion birds to the wild or breeders
releasing older birds to the wild. Recently, a study was taken and found that there were
between 6 thousand and 26 thousand wild Quakers in the USA located mainly in Florida,
Texas, New Jersey, and many other states. QuakerVille is extending to anyone with wild
quakers the oppertunity to be involved with the counting and researching the quantity of

over the past year of the wild ones of South Florida. I also have recorded several tracks
of wild quaker audio for your listening pleasure. The photos are a little large and will
take just a little while to download but you will be rewarded with some pretty neat photos
of wild quakers in trees, flying, carrying twigs, and an assortment of other things. I

 Capturing the audio of these little green guys is particularly
interesting in this area. Click the Icon to the left to visit the feral quaker audio page.
You will be able to listen to three different cuts of audio prepared for the Internet in
diferent ways. The largest of the files are large, full stereo CD quality audio cuts of
quakers flying, playing, and socializing. The smaller versions are compressed and mono'd
versions to save bandwidth. If you have a quaker, download the
.wav audio files and let your quaker companion have a listen. Keep an eye on his
reactions. Enjoy.
