Welcome to the story of Angel a lost Budgie, Jerry and Sally, wild
Quaker Parrots.
The story takes place close to the Everglades in South Florida where
many indoor socialized parrots are released or lost every year. The
story is fictional but the sentiment is not.
The moral of the story is if you have indoor socialized parrot
companions don't just take them somewhere and chuck them out the
door because you don't want to "put up" with them. Indoor socialized
(pets) have a very difficult life in the wild. These Budgies we've
seen in the wild last but a few months, then they are gone. Be
responsible when getting a pet bird, it's a commitment for a
lifetime, yours and theirs .
